An antique French white cotton corset cover, or cache-corset, dating to c. 1900. Acquired from an auction in Tours, the piece is hand sewn and finished with rows of fine bobbin Valenciennes lace forming a square neckline across the bodice. The neckline and arm openings are edged with matching narrow lace, with pearl buttons at the front and a waist tie threaded through small hand-sewn openings.

Armpit to armpit: 58 cm / 23 in
Shoulder to hem: 48 cm / 19 in

Condition:
Very good antique condition. There are a couple of rust spots due to age, which may fade with further careful treatment. Structurally lovely and highly detailed, with delicate hand sewing and lacework throughout.

Care:
Handle gently due to age and delicate lace construction. Professional textile cleaning recommended, or very gentle cold hand washing if needed. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, or bleach.
