A rare Edwardian hand sewn lingerie dress dating to c. 1910s. Made from fine gauzy cotton voile with a light but structured hand, the dress is worked with open crochet-style lace insets, fine pintucking, and floral lace panels through the bodice, sleeves, waist, and skirt. The high waist, soft columnar line, and sheer lace construction reflect late Edwardian lingerie dress design, often worn over a separate slip or underlayer.

The dress closes at the back with hook-and-eye fastenings. Beautiful worn over white, nude, or a contrasting underdress.

Condition:
Excellent antique condition for its age and very wearable with care. There are a few tiny age spots and small holes, with one more noticeable small hole at the front bodice near the corner of the lace panel. This could be carefully mended or covered with a brooch, flower, or other period-style accent. Please review photos carefully.

Handle gently due to age and delicate lace construction. Professional textile cleaning recommended. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, or bleach.
